Judy Shum
Project Coordinator

Judy was hired in April 2005 to take on the role of Project Coordinator, NERP's first paid staff position. Judy brings to NERP extensive experience from both the community service and business sectors. Some of her previous roles in non-profit organizations include Executive Director of Next Door Family Resources (south Etobicoke) and Program Director of Cecil Community Centre (downtown Toronto). Judy also has five years of experience in the field of international development through OXFAM in Hong Kong and in Canada. As project officer for OXFAM Hong Kong in the mid 80’s, Judy worked closely with various community development organizations in the Philippines, managed volunteer teams and coordinated fundraising activities. Within her employment experience in the business sector, she was a customer service coordinator with a major plastic packaging manufacturer in Etobicoke. Judy graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She moved to Toronto as an immigrant from Hong Kong in the late 80's and now lives in Mississauga with her family.
 
 
Barbara Gibson
Administrative Support Worker

Barbara has been a long time resident of North Etobicoke and has watched how the community is changing. She brings with her over 20 years of corporate experience in administration and management in the aerospace manufacturing sector. With over 15 years of volunteer work with major agencies such as World Vision and the United Way of Greater Toronto, she is familiar with many of the programs and services provided by community agencies in the GTA.

 
 

Zabeena Mohamed

Zabeena is a long time resident of Rexdale for twenty-three years. She has a great connection with the Jamestown community and a deep passion for the youth in her neighbourhood. She brings with her the desire to better her community by involving more youth in programs that will stimulate, educate and help them become contributing and successful individuals. One of Zabeena's key roles at NERP is to conduct outreach to local employers and connect them to job seeking residents, programs, services and other resources through the non-profit employment service sector.
