1. What is the mission of NERP?

The North Etobicoke Revitalization Partnership envisions a vibrant, harmonious community where everyone respects diversity and takes responsibility for ensuring safety, health and economic viability. NERP is a community-driven initiative to guide the future development of northern Etobicoke. Through the mobilization of work groups addressing specific areas of concern such as environment, recreation, arts, culture, housing and employment, NERP seeks to make our community safe, clean, healthy and sustainable - a community to live in and be proud of.

2. How is NERP funded?
Over the past several years, NERP has been successful in securing a number of project based grants from a variety of sources, such as Toronto Arts Council and Friends of the Environment. Currently, NERP receives funding from the Government of Ontario, through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, which supports the operation of a small office at Thistletown Multi Service Centre, two staff positions (project coordinator and administrative support worker), and a series of activities under the Labour Market Emergence Initiative (LMEI) project.

3. How do I become a member of NERP?

If you are interested in joining one of NERP's work groups or helping with one of our community projects, you can call or email the Project Coordinator, Judy Shum, at (416) 743-3753 or jshum_nerp@bellnet.ca

4. Where is the NERP office located?
The NERP office is located at the Thistletown Multi Service Centre, Room 305A, 925 Albion Road (south side of Albion, just east of Islington).

5. How do I post a community event on the NERP website?
The purpose of the Events Calendar section of this website is to provide current information on events/activities which are of interest to the residents, employers and community service agencies in the North Etobicoke community. If you have a community event/activity to post, simply go to the Events Calendar section, click on "Add Event" and complete the form with details of your event/activity. Do try to include an image related to the event/activity, if you have one. Your event/activity, if appropriate, will then be posted within 24 hours after the information has been submitted.

6. How do I add my business or community service agency to NERP's online directory?
You can add your business or community service agency to NERP's online directory by first going to the Employers Section page to create a profile. If you're a new user, simply click on "Don't have a user name? Sign up here.." located on the left-hand side of the page, and you'll be taken to the appropriate form. Just complete the form with details of your business or community service agency and submit it. Your listing, if appropriate, will be posted within 24 hours after the information has been submitted.

7. What is the E-Bulletin and how can I receive it by email on a regular basis?
The purpose of the E-Bulletin is to provide current information that is of relevance to the residents, businesses and community service agencies in the North Etobicoke community. The E-Bulletin is updated on a regular basis (about once every two weeks) and you can view it online any time by going to the "E-Bulletin" section from any page of the NERP website. In addition, if you would like to receive a copy of the E-Bulletin by e-mail, please enter your e-mail address in the "Subscribe To E-Bulletin" box located on the left-hand side of the "Home" page. The E-Bulletin will then be sent automatically to your email address on a regular basis.
