The Safety Work Group collects, analyzes, and shares safety related information. It looks for gaps related to safety that need to be addressed and helps to facilitate appropriate action.

The Safety Work Group is comprised of organizations and individuals who work for community safety in the broadest and most holistic way possible. Members of this working group include police officers, social service agencies, political officials, concerned citizens, government resource staff and local clergy.

Current/recent activities:

The Safety Work Group hosts its second "North Etobicoke Celebrates” event on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Albion Centre, 1530 Albion Road. This year’s event will reflect on the positive things happening in Rexdale, particularly among our youth and children. The event will be chaired by Councillor Suzan Hall and Superintendent Ron Taverner, and will include special guests Mayor David Miller and Police Chief Bill Blair. The afternoon will showcase the talents of local youth and children, and promote the wide variety of services offered by local community agencies.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this work group, please contact us for more information.
